People of the Netherlands
One country, so many nationalities. We all live in the same country.
Everyone captured the same way. Same studio, same lighting.
Participants may also have Dutch nationality if they or their ancestors
have roots elsewhere and migrated to the Netherlands.
About the Project
The People of the Netherlands project is a portrait photography initiative by Maurice Jager. It aims to photograph one person for each nationality living in the Netherlands, showcasing the country's diversity of cultures and roots.
The goal of the project is to photograph a person for each nationality that lives in the Netherlands. The initiative seeks to demonstrate the varied faces and backgrounds within the country, promoting awareness and acceptance of different communities.
You can join even with Dutch nationality if you or your parents/grandparents migrated from elsewhere.
The Result: A coffee table book will be published at project completion, with proceeds helping cover expenses. Maurice is seeking exhibition venue partners. Progress updates appear online and on his social media channels.
